About the LSCB
The LSCB does not deliver services directly to children, young people and their families but it oversees the effectiveness of LCSB member agencies in performing these duties. It forms an independent view of local safeguarding work and challenges where necessary.
Guidance governing the work and membership of the LSCB:
- All Wales Child Protection Procedures 2008
- Safeguarding Children: Working Together under the Children Act 2004
The Constitution (141kb PDF) sets out the LSCB governance procedures, membership and structure that support the LSCB in its work. The Constitution also defines the values of the LSCB.
Child Practice Reviews:
Child Practice Reviews are multi-agency reviews that are commissioned to review the circumstances of a specific case. The aim of these reviews is to reflect on what has happened and learn from that in order to improve practice in the future. Find out more from the NSPCC
